ABOUT ROD SPARKOWICH
Rod is the President of Coastal K9, LLC, which he eagerly opened in 2011. Bringing 30+ yrs of professional dog training services to pet owners, K9 handlers, and dog sport competitors. Rod is the former Military Working Dog Program Adoption Coordinator for the US Department of Defense at Lackland Air Force Base, TX, where he received the USAF Exemplary Civilian Employee Award for outstanding service to the Military Working Dog Program. Rod was responsible for Military Working dogs to be separated from service and offer these dogs available for adoption to live out the rest of their lives. Throughout his career, Rod has trained at Police K9 training programs throughout New England. Agencies such as; Portsmouth NH, Boston MA, Essex County MA, Scarborough ME, Falmouth ME, Portland ME, as well as the NH Working Dog Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to the support of working Police K9‘s in NH. Prior to his long standing relationship in the world of man's best friend, Rod is a former Lt. at the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office and has served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corp. |
ABOUT TRACY SHAW
Tracy has over 30 years of animal welfare, canine training, and canine behavior experience. Tracy is the VP/CFO at Coastal K9, where she is able to enhance a shared vision by combining 25 years of canine knowledge, skills, and abilities with her long term dog training friend, business partner, and husband. Tracy served as the executive director of the SPCA of Hancock County. The SPCAHC is a non profit, no-kill animal shelter that is funded solely by private donors. Notable accomplishments during her tenure would include; increased adoptions by 75%, in 2011 program development for the following; dog training, outsourced staff networking with ASPIRE, and ABLE (seniors back to work), networking with high kill shelters to save more lives, with the Island of Guam, by transferring feral puppies from a high kill shelter to the SPCAHC to be adopted to forever families. Ms Shaw's background includes being the contract manager for the 341st Squadron, Military Working Dog Breeding Program. Overseeing the daily operations of puppy development and training of over 175 Department of Defense military working dog prospects at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. Shaw is the former CEO of Diamond Dream Dog Center, a dog training and daycare facility in Kennebunk, Maine. Shaw is known by many in the Kennebunk's from the early 90's by founding the dog training program at the Animal Welfare Society, a no-kill animal shelter in West Kennebunk, Maine. |
